Woodstock 50th Anniversary Posts

It’s the 50th Anniversary of the Woodstock Music Festival. I didn’t arrive on the planet till three years later but the film of the festival is an early musical bonding memory with my dad. We were videotaping it from a commercial TV channel that was showing it pretty late into the night. After careful calculations, we had determined that we could get it all onto one video cassette if we sat up for a while and paused the recording during the commercial breaks for the first hour, or an hour and a half.

We sat together watching and talking about the music, the culture and what was happening in a small town in the North West of England while all this was going. We ended up watching the whole thing together that night.

Anyway, to celebrate a half-century of three days of peace, love, and music I’ll be posting a bunch of video posts on this blog over the next few days. Enjoy!
