International Pop Overthrow – Day Three

I may have been looking forward to Thursday more than a little bit. After grabbing food at Flanagan’s Apple we settled down at the front of the stage in the Cavern Back where our first band of the evening was The Arcadeans who very definitely rocked the place.

After this, it was time for Kimberley Rew and Lee Cave-Berry. I first saw them way on back at the second IPO Liverpool, in merch girl days and it was brilliant to see them back.  The highlight of the set for many was probably Going Down To Liverpool, but personally, I may need more time to recover from the awesome version of Dick Dale’s Misirlou!

Then it was a quick dash to the front stage to catch the end of the Malibooz, just in time to see them joined by Rod Davis and Chas Newby of the Quarrymen.

A swift drink later we caught the first couple of songs by The Bishops Daredevil Stunt Club

Then it was time to nip over the road to the Cavern Pub for the second Kim and Lee set of the night.

Before we disappeared into the night it was lovely to grab photos with them both.

Spread the love
